English (Christmas)

Christmas is a holiday celebrated in late December. Traditional Christmas Eve is in December 24th and ends January 13th (Tjugondag Knut) then ”Christmas danced out”. The Christmas tree is a tradition that began in Germany in the 1500s. During the 1600 – and 1700’s they began to decorate the tree with lights. In Christmas time is music and singing strongly in Christmas theme. A Christmas gift is a gift that is distributed at Christmas. Christmas presents can be distributed by Santa Claus or placed under the Christmas tree before they are opened. Christmas food is the food that is served over the Christmas holidays, they usually eat Christmas ham and stockfish. Santa Claus is the one who brings presents at Christmas time. He is usually depicted as a fat man with a red cap and a long white beard.

English, a ghost story!

There was a girl that would sleep alone at home . She was not afraid because she had her little dog with her. The dog used to always sleep under the girl’s bed, and the girl was afraid of the dark so she stuck her hand down just under the bed and let the dog lick her hand. Then she was quiet again .

At night the girl lay in her bed and listened to the radio. The broadcast broke and the announcer was talking about a flesh-eating killer that had escaped from a madhouse around . It would turn off lights for the madman was drawn to flesh, blood and light.

The girl turned out the light and put her hand under the bed. Then she felt the dog lick her hand and calmed down and fell asleep. After a while, the girl woke up she found someone came up the stairs. She put her hand under the bed and when she felt the dog lick her hand , she was calm again and went back to sleep .

Soon enough, the girl woke again. She thought she heard a dripping sound coming from the bathroom . When the girl came into the bathroom , she saw that her dog was hanging in the sink none above the tub . It was stabbed and all the blood had run down into the tub. On the mirror someone had written in blood : ” People can also lick .”

In halloween people put a Jack-o-lantern outside their house to scare witches and demons off their ground. (you make a hole at the top of the pumpgin and take out the nasty stuff and then you carve a ugly or cute face on it and put a candle in it) Kids offen dress up as scary monsters an demons and knock on doors and if someone opens they say trick or treat!People pick treat most of the time. If they doesnt open the door they maybe have they garden decorated in toilet paper.

When kids are done with the trick or treat they ask the parents if they know a answer on a riddle or a joke. If they know the right answer they get some candy but if not they doesent get anything.

On All saints day you go to the cementary if your granma or someone else is dead and light a candle on the grave. All saints day is a sad day when everybody is sad and are thinking about dead people.
